Clothing
One of the major costs, of course, will be the manufacturing costs of your clothing. Since specially designed clothing will require having the clothes cut to a specific size and shape and then stitched together, it can cost quite a bit, especially if you only have say 1,000 units produced at one time. The material will also play a major role in the cost; the more expensive the fabric, the more expensive the final product is.
Distribution
Another major cost will be distribution. You’ll need to decide how you want to sell your clothing. One option is to sell them online only directly to the customer. Many products, including Coogi pants, go this route, but you may find more success selling in stores where potential buyers can feel and try on the clothes. With this option, though, you’ll have to pay for the clothes to be produced first and get paid when they’re delivered to the store.Â
Promotion
For a clothing line to be successful, you’ll need to spend a lot of money on promotion. It helps if you can get celebrities (whether local or national) to wear your clothes as well as promoting them at local events.
